Anointing of the sick is a Sacrament that is offered to all those experiencing serious illness, or people who have grown weak under the burden of years. The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick gives grace for the state into which people enter through sickness. Through the sacrament a gift of the Holy Spirit is given, renewing confidence and faith in God and strengthening against temptations to discouragement, despair and anguish at the thought of death and the struggle of death; it prevents the believer from losing Christian hope in God's justice, truth and salvation.
Twice a year, anyone who is seriously ill, experiencing depression and/or declining health due to illness, can come forward to be anointed during the scheduled weekend Masses. Friends, family and community members are encouraged to participate in this Mass through prayer and support. Individual anointings can be arranged through Fr. Tim Rudolphi.
