Senior High Mission Trip
Where: Nez Perce Reservation in Idaho
When: July 8-15th, 2017
Cost: $560 (scholarships and fundraising available)
Who: Open to current 10th-12th grade students; priority given to students active in St. Pat’s youth program. This trip fills fast!
St. Pat’s Senior High Program: 10th-12th grade

All 10th-12th grade students are encouraged to register and stay involved.
COMPASS: Mondays, 7:00-8:30 pm
St. Pat’s main senior high faith formation program. Speakers, small groups, and good good times!! New this year, Compass nights will rotate between small group nights, speakers, and large group activities (broomball, bonfires, scavenger hunts, dinner nights, service projects, and more.) All students in grades 10, 11, & 12 are welcome! Friends are placed in groups together and maintain the same same-sex small group and leaders throughout high school. Compass is led by our dynamic young adult leadership team. Compass is a fun and exciting way to grow in faith and in relationship with Christ and others. NAVIGATORS: Wednesdays, 6:45-8:30 pm **
Each Wednesday, St. Pat's senior high Navigator leaders help provide an exciting, relational based middle school faith formation program to our middle school students. THE NAVIGATOR PROGRAM IS A BIG COMMITMENT! Nav leaders meet EVERY WEEK with a class of 6th, 7th or 8th grade students to help them grow in faith. Teams of 2-3 high school students will be placed with a class for the entire year and will be paired with an Adult Mentor to help them grow as leaders and teachers. Navigator leaders need to be responsible, faithful, and have a genuine desire to walk with middle school students and help them grow in faith.
Evening schedule is as follows:
6:45 pm: Arrive in classroom and be prepared to teach/review lesson plan for the night
7:00-7:40 pm: Teach classroom lesson (worksheets, prayer activities, projects, faith discussions, etc.
7:40-8:10 pm: Help lead Large Group games, lessons, etc. and mentor your small group during Large Group
8:10-8:25 pm: Closing Prayer Service – middle school students dismissed to Mahon Center
8:25-8:30 pm: Meet with Adult Mentor
Requirements for all Navigator Leaders:
· Commitment to be present and focused EVERY Wednesday (Sep-Apr)
· First time leader interview with Jaclyn, Nicole or Jimmy
· Attend Leadership Training: September 7th and 14th; 7:00-8:30 pm.
· $40 program fee
**NOTE: Priority for Navigators is given to juniors and seniors. Sophomores will be required to attend extensive first semester training to prepare them for leadership before leading small groups.
NAVIGATOR BAND: Wednesdays, 6:00-8:30 pm
The Navigator Band (10-12th grade students) brings fun and engaging worship music to our middle school faith formation program. We are in great need of musical talent. If you play an instrument or sing, please consider this important ministry. Requirements: Musical interview with Youth Music Minister Jimmy Barnett. ELEMENTARY CATECHISTS: Wednesdays, 4:45-6:00 pm or
Sundays during 9:00 and 11:00 am Masses
St. Pat's is in need of energetic, faith filled high school students to help teach K-5th grade faith formation classes. Students are welcome to teach with a friend and accommodations can be made for students who are in high school sports. Preschool and Kindergarten catechists are needed on Sunday mornings during the 9:00 and 11:00 am Masses. High school students are strongly encouraged to volunteer in one of the following Mass ministries. Training provided. Volunteers are scheduled approximately once every six weeks and can pick their own Mass times. This is a wonderful way to become more involved at Mass.
• Lector at Mass (reader)
• Usher at Mass (greet, pass collection baskets, distribute bulletins after Mass)
• Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister (distribute Communion)
