Greetings Faith Formation Families!

It is with great excitement that I can write to all of you about Mathew Walker, one of our 12th grade seniors from Edina High School, who has met with Father, Deacon and I about offering his excellent math skills to help other St. Patrick students catch up with Math this summer on Sunday mornings.

Here’s is how the offering will work and we will modify as needed:

  • Matthew will be in the Celtic Center every Sunday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 AM

  • Matthew will begin math tutoring starting this Sunday, June 13th @ 10:00 AM

  • This offering is for the summer only with the last Sunday for tutoring on August 29th

  • No sign-ups are needed as this is a drop-in offering on Sunday mornings

  • The only Sundays over the summer Matthew will be unavailable are June 27th, August 1st, August 8th

  • The first time Matthew meets with a new student, he will get to know the student and find out where the student will need assistance.  The next time Matthew meets with the student, Matthew will bring the materials (math worksheets and pencils) for each student to work with and use.

  • Sessions may last 20 minutes or up to an hour depending on the number of students who come for tutoring

  • Parents must stay in the Celtic Center with their student(s) but should sit in a different area of the Celtic Center.  For the safety of the children, parents must stay in the Celtic Center; no drop-off allowed.

  • Matthew will be able to help all students in elementary and middle school.  He can help tutor high school students too with Algebra, Geometry, Advanced Algebra, and Statistics.

All of us on parish staff want to thank Matthew for bringing this wonderful offering of service to the children of the Church of St. Patrick.

If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know.
I am always happy to help!
